Many women are accustomed to carrying large handbags similar to weekenders. Well, this may seem to be in fashion, but it is becoming the lumber killer of today’s career women. People’s spine is like a tower crane, if the left side bears a burden then the spine column will bent to the left. In order to maintain the balance of the spine, muscles on the spine column’s right side will contract actively and due to the differences between the left and right lever of force, muscles on the right will produce a power that is several times of that on the left.
The right way to carry a handbag
A. Keep your body straight, especially your head and shoulders;
B. Hold the load in front of your chest, or use a backpack, let the load be close to your spine to maintain balance stress in it;
C. Maintain balance in load if both of your hands are occupied and hold your stomach muscles in when walking.
D. Better change hands from time to time if you are carrying only one handbag.
E. If you are carrying a messenger bag with long strap, better put it in front of your stomach instead of sides.
